It looks as though EMCE Toys has launched the Retro Action figure craze into the Horrorsphere with their launch of Zombie inspired action figures and collectibles for the fall of 2011. Dubbed as the Zombie Survival Headquarters for the 2011 New York Toy Fair, EMCE Toys unearthed a multitude of Zombie-themed figures based in the classic Mego-scaled 1/9 format.
As a departure from their earlier offerings in the retro category such as the Star Trek and Planet of the Apes lines, EMCE has broadened the scope of their brand with the launch of a new line of Zombie figures called WAR OF THE DEAD; a concept based on a new intellectual property owned by EMCE's parent company, Fourth Castle Media. Rivaling the quality and craftsmanship usually associated with higher-end 1:6 scale lines; EMCE Toys may soon prove to be the new king of articulated decomposition and finely sculpted decay.
